Eh? Bowls.

Currently we are working on bowls and such. We first started with creating a template to use for our bowl and the cut the pattern out on the clay. After that the clay was placed over an actual bowl to give it shape while it dries. Eventually, I painted little polka-dots on the bottom of my bowl and put it in the kilm. They got glazed today and should be done soon enough after coming out of the kilm! I was going for a sun look with my pattern but with the polka-dots it kind of resembles an octopus<3. Accepted.

Pastels

YEAH BUDDY.

In art we had to draw a still life picutre of a scene in front of us with pastels. I'm not the most amazing artist so I was pretty surprised when my picture turned out successfully. It is important to smudge the the colors and use a variety of colors when working with pastels. I enjoyed this project a lot and would definitally work with pastels again<3

Got perspective? FORCED.

By using perspective, pictures may appear different than in reality. Such as someone is a giant standing on top of a house but they are actually standing close to the camera. It is suppose to look like im a giant who can reach the pole with no problem. However, this was only semi-sucessful...

Excuse me?

We started off my learning to draw people in propotion. And ended up painting ourselves, which soon we became into...  monsters? I feel like the polka-dotted pants really define me. OH YES. Although it is a creation I wouldn't mind forgetting...

Light it up.

Cigar please.

We had to use glow sticks to show our creativity;). The pictures basically tell it all...

rock that out.

PICKACHU

RAWR. Banana monster;)

BANANA MONSTER

Kindergarteners drew pictures of monsters and we had to bring their drawings to life! My monster was the Banana Monster he has crazy hair;). Unforunatly his arm didn't make it through the kilm process... As a result, a new and imporved extra-long arm replaced the missing one. Other than that, I think the monster looks good! The most difficult part was interpurting what the kindergarten drew and creating that into a 3-D creation.

Got perspective?

Currently in art we are learning how to do perspective drawings. Here is a 2-point perspective of a house. We had to continue the building and use our imagination to create it. With only a little piece to work with, it was difficult but I think it turned out well :)

Skittles = DONE.

Finally, I was able to complete my skittles project! The final product was successful :D! I wish I would have used more orange skittles on the right side of my face and kept my lines straight. Other than that it looks like my face from distances away! The skittle pictures are now showcased in the library.

Skittles, LETTSGO.

Currently we are working on doing mossaics of ourselfs via skittles :). It is way harder than I was expecting and a lot more skittles are needed than expected. Despite not much progress, I am seeing imporvement and looking at it far away I can see how it may look like my face. I wish we would have done the project with supplies that are cheaper like jellybeans but i think the overall project will turn out good!

Work in progress...

Shadow Art

This project was fun and a way to make art out of garbage nobody would think to use. We got to try out our spontaneous ideas and brainstorm how to improve the images produced with the projector. It would have turned out better if we could have focused our ideas but overall I think it was successful!

Value Portrait

My portait drawing
My overall thoughs on my drawing is I think it is a huge imporvement from when I first started Art I. The eyes could have been more realistic and I should have done one eyebrow hair at a time instead of just shading it in. Also, the shape of the eyes and nose could have been more acurate. If I had to do this project over agian I would have drawn more shapes on the tracing paper and focused on my shapes more. I think the shading was successful but I could have been blended  it more. I learned that drawing portraits are actually possible and are easier with tracing paper. :)

Masking Tape

Over all this project was successful in creating a art pallet and paint brush. The shapes look good and can be identified. My contributation was creating the practice sample of the design and particpating in making the final product. Coloring the masking tape to represent paint on the pallet worked well but the diagonal lines could have been more straight. If I had to do this project again I would be more creative and contributed more to the design. The most difficult part of the project was taking a design on paper and recreating that. I learned art can be made with anything!

In the making.
